Red Japanese Maple

Weeping Red Japanese Maple

A small, weeping Japanese maple with fine leaves. New red leaves turn deep purple in summer, then bright scarlet in autumn. Grows best in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil to show its full colour.

Weeping Japanese Maple

White Flowering Dogwood

Evergreen Ash

Crepe Myrtle

Gumball Sweet Gum
Dwarf, slow growing, bushy form. Does not form a leader. Autumn colours of red, orange and yellow often occur very late in the season. Ideal small garden tree, screening or for lining driveways. 2-3m ball in ten years. Hardy.

Evergreen Magnolia

Fairy Magnolia

Large shrub or small tree with shining paler green leaves. Has a strong horizontal branching structure which makes it ideal for training, especially pleaching. Olive

Greek Olive

Selection from Greece. A dense, bushy tree. Ideal for hedging, screening and shaping. Excellent as a street tree. Great for containers. Self-fertile but does not usually fruit well in New Zealand. Fruit ripens in autumn. 4m tall x 3m wide in ten years.

Kōhūhū

Wrinkle blue has a slender, erect, narrow, pyramidal form with attractively rippled blue/green glossy leaves. Quick and easy to grow in either sunny or shaded locations, and can be pruned into any size or shape. Spring, fragrant purple flowers. Great for screening. 3m x 2m in ten years

Henkels Yellowwood

A medium to large evergreen tree with dense, lush foliage which is narrow and thin. Slow growing and mildly drought tolerant. New growth appears with pinkish tones which change to lime green. Useful as screening/hedging. Approx. 3m in ten years.

Yoshino Cherry

Erect, vase-shaped, spreading grower. In early spring becomes smothered in fragrant , blush pink, single blossoms from deep pink buds. Yellow and orange autumn colour. Excellent street tree. 6m tall x 5m wide in ten years.

Ornamental pear

An exciting new introduction by Frank’s Trees. An upright Ornamental Pear, (similar to Chanticleer Pear) with green leaves changing to autumn tones of orange/red late autumn. Abundant white flowers in early spring. It is drought hardy but will also handle intermittingly wet, heavy soils. Protected by Plant Variety Right (P.V.R)

Frontier Elm

Forms a vase-shaped tree with a rounded head. Small, dark green leaves turn glowing burgundy in autumn and persist well into winter. Tolerant of moderate coastal winds and drought. Great shade tree. Excellent street tree. 6m tall x 5m wide in ten years.

Golden Elm

Forms a rounded-head with graceful, pendulous branches, a slender trunk and peeling bark. Small dark green leaves turn orange and yellow in autumn. Tolerant of moderate coastal winds and drought. Excellent street tree. 6m tall x 5m wide in ten years

Forms a vase-shaped tree with a spreading crown of branches which weep at their tips. Narrow, pale green leaves turn yellow, orange and scarlet in autumn. Tolerant of drought once established and withstands strong winds. 8m tall x 5m wide in ten years.
